Annie Walker Armstrong

“Every year we honor the life and work of Annie Walker Armstrong (1850-1938) when we give to the annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American missions.”

Annie Armstrong was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. To express her love for Him and concern for lost souls, she worked tirelessly to find ways to support missions. She wrote lengthy letters about the spiritual and physical needs of people to the churches, encouraging them to join in the effort to reach the lost world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Annie was a studier of the Bible and a woman of prayer. She wanted a personal relationship with God, which can only come through the reading of Scripture and praying to God. She knew she needed to be close to Him, if she wanted to know how best to minister to the many persons she would come in contact with on a daily basis.

Annie rallied the churches together to give, pray, and do more for the missionaries and work of missions. Annie led women to unite in mission work, which in part led to the establishment of the WMU (Woman’s Missionary Union).

Will you be an Annie? Support missions and witness to others around you today.
