Apple Watch: Save Battery Life and Time with VIP Contacts

So you have an Apple Watch.
Want to save battery life and a little time in your own life?

Most of us receive a lot of junk email, or emails that don't need our immediate attention. However, because our phone dings or vibrates, we are constantly taking it out of our pockets or purses to check the alert. This can be a constant distraction, and ultimately a waste of time. Here is a way to help free up some of your time if you own the Apple Watch.

No, I am not suggesting everyone needs the Apple Watch or any smartwatch, but rather if you already have one, use it wisely.

First set Notifications:

iPhone
  • Apple Watch app
  • Notifications
  • Mail
  • (check) Custom
    • Turn all accounts (Off)
    • Turn VIPs (On)

Second set VIPs:

iPhone
  • Open Email app
  • Choose Email with Contact to add to VIPs
  • Choose Contact's name or email address shown (in To, Cc, Bcc)
    • Scroll to bottom of Contact
    • Choose Add to VIP

Now you will only receive (Email) notifications from your VIPs on your Apple Watch. No more needing to check your phone every time it dings or vibrates. All texts will still go to your Apple Watch, unless you change those settings separately. And remember, from Notifications within the Apple Watch app (via your phone), you can turn off other distractions you don't need interrupting you every second of the day.

This can also be done from iCloud.

Hope this frees up a bit of your time like it has mine.
