What does the Bible say about Believer’s Baptism?

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:4

Believer's Baptism is an act of obedience on the part of the new convert toward God, for all the world to see that they have been reborn and now follow Christ. It is an outward sign of an inward change, brought about by the power of the Holy Spirit within one who has been moved to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Baptism is a picture of the death of the old man (the sin nature), and the birth of the new (the quickened spirit). It is not a means to salvation, but rather an act of obedience to God and testimony to man from one who once was lost but now is saved. We are to hence forth live for Christ, to "go, and sin no more."
